Top 10 Blog Posts from 2020
Happy New Year!
First off, let me start this post by expressing how grateful I am for you being here. This blog has made me so happy for the last (almost) 8 years, and it still brings me so much joy! It is because of you that I continue it. So thank you!
As we all know 2020 brought some very difficult moments for us. However, I can say that it also brought some proud moments for me with this blog. Country Peony was featured in two of my favorite online magazines: Good Housekeeping and Country Living. I was able to create atleast one new video tutorial each month for my Youtube channel. I had the privilege of working with some incredible companies like: Clover, Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, Paper Mart, Tangi, Jumprope, and Beacon Adhesives. I was so honored and excited to go LIVE on Miss Mustard Seed’s Facebook page to showcase some fun DIYs using their amazing products. Last but not least I was able to fulfill a longtime dream of mine by opening an online vintage shop (Country Peony Vintage) featuring some of my favorite thrifted finds.
I am so inspired to hit the ground running on more house projects, great collaborations, more vintage drops, and fun craft projects in 2021. I also plan to share more behind-the-scenes on Instagram and Facebook, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, please take a look at some of your favorite blog posts from 2020 projects.
At number 10 is the reveal of my corner office space in my master bedroom. It may not be this tidy currently but I love it just the same, and I am so happy you like it too!
At number 9 is one of my favorite home projects from the year: DIY Dresser Makeover with Milk Paint. I love Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, and I am so happy with how their tricycle red transformed my children’s hand-me-down dresser into a showstopper for their shared bedroom.
Creating these Terrazzo Polymer Clay Earrings made me feel like a kid again because they were so much fun to make. I actually came up with the idea for the earrings when my children and I were playing with clay one afternoon. The beauty in this DIY is that they are so simple and are fully customizable. Perfect as a gift for someone you love or for yourself!
I partnered with Clover to bring a fresh and fun take on yo-yos using their amazing yo-yo maker. This was the first time that I created fabric yo-yos, and it was so much fun. I also love the nod to the grandmillenial trend that this wreath gives out! I see more yo-yo projects in my future.
I love incorporating pom-poms into my crafts, and I loved how charming this heart wreath turned out for Valentine’s Day. I was so happy to partner with Clover on this project, because their pom-pom maker is the best one around and it makes the cutest pom-poms in less time everytime.
At number 5, I turned our hand-me-down media cabinet from an eyesore into a really happy piece using Miss Mustard Seed’s Boxwood Green. See the full tutorial HERE.
Because of Clover’s amazing pom-pom makers this DIY was probably the simplest one from this year, and yet it has brought me so much cheer! This DIY Pom-Pom Floral Arrangement currently sits on my office desk and brings me joy year round.
I had so much fun painting pumpkins pink in 2020, as witnessed by the milk paint pumpkins and this DIY that takes the Number 3 spot. Paint pour is such a wonderful technique that turns any blank canvas into a work of art. The hardest part was keeping my children away as it dried.
One of my newfound hobbies in 2020 was embroidery. I was determined to finish my late grandmother’s cross stitch project. I didn’t finish her piece, but I did work on some other fun embroidery pieces like this one using Paper Mart’s amazing tote bags. I also thought we could all use more rainbows and cheer in 2020, so the oversized rainbow was a fun touch.
The number one most viewed project from 2020 was the DIY Silhouette Portrait Art that I created of my children. This has been on my to do list for a while, and I absolutely love how this vintage inspired DIY turned out. I know I will cherish it for many years to come!
That is a wrap on 2020! Thanks again for following along. Please feel free to reach out about any projects you want to see in 2021. And, I always love seeing your creations!
Cheers to a wonderful year!
