DIY Crepe Paper Peony Bouquet with Paper Mart

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I love to give sweet handmade gifts to friends and family to show them how much I care for them. Today, I am so grateful to work with Paper Mart to bring you a Crepe Paper Peony Bouquet DIY that is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face, and it can be enjoyed long after Valentine’s Day is over.
Paper Mart has so many wonderful products that are perfect for not only your shipping needs, but also your crafting needs. I loved working with Paper Mart’s products on last year’s DIY Tissue Paper Heart Art project and this happy DIY Embroidered Rainbow Tote Bag from last Summer. Their products are very high quality, and I loved using their premium colored crepe paper, floral stem tape, floral stem wire, wax floral tissue paper, and their white lace cut reinforced felt ribbon for this project.
The beauty in this DIY is that it is fully customizable. You can choose whatever color or flower that you want to create a sweet crepe paper floral bouquet. I hope you enjoy making one for a loved one or for yourself just as much as I did.

To make your own crepe paper peony bouquet, you will need:
Step 1: Download and cut out the petal and leaf templates (can be found in through the clickable link above). Cut the crepe paper into squares that are the same size as the petal template.
Step 2: Trace the peony petal template into the crepe paper squares.
Step 3: Cut out the peony petals.
*To save time, cut about 5-8 pieces of crepe paper together to create more petals at once.
Step 4: Gently stretch the crepe paper petals to create movement and fullness for each petal.
Step 5: Cut and stretch the small, medium, and large petals for each flower. Then set them aside.
Step 6: Create the peony stamen. Cut a strip of Paper Mart’s crepe paper, then fringe cute the crepe paper on one end.
Twist each cut fringe piece to create the stamen.
Step 7: Attach the paper stamen to Paper Mart’s floral stem wire with hot glue. Carefully wrap and glue the fringe stamen around the floral stem wire.
Step 8: Create the paper peony.
*Remember to have fun with this process. It doesn’t have to be perfect as real flowers are not perfect themselves.
Attach a small crepe paper peony petal to the floral stem wire and the stamen with hot glue.
Continue to attach small paper peony petals to all sides of the floral stem wire with hot glue.
Glue 8-10 petals of the small petal size.
Attach the medium size paper peony petals to the floral stem wire with hot glue.
Glue 8-10 petals of the medium petal size.
Attach the large size paper peony petals to the floral stem wire with hot glue.
Glue 8-10 petals of the large petal size.
Step 9: Create the paper leaves.
Trace out the leaves with the leaf templates.
Cut the leaves out.
Gently stretch the leaves out to create movement and fullness.
Step 10: Attach the paper leaves to the base of the paper peony with hot glue.
Step 11: Attach the floral stem tape to the floral stem wire with hot glue at the base of the leaves. Then slowly twist the floral stem tape down the floral stem wire.
Trim the tape at the end of the floral stem wire.
Step 12: Repeat steps 1-11 to create more crepe paper peonies for a full bouquet.
*I created 5 peonies for my bouquet, but you can do less or more.
Step 13: Gather the crepe paper peonies together to create a bouquet. Twist and bend the floral wire stems so the peonies create a seamless bouquet.
Step 14: Once you are happy with the placement of the peonies, twist one floral stem wire tightly around the other floral stem wires to create stability for the bouquet.
Step 15: Attach a pretty ribbon like Paper Mart’s white lace felt ribbon to the floral wire stem with hot glue.
Tie the ribbon into a knot or a bow to finish off the bouquet.
Step 16: Enjoy your custom crepe paper peony bouquet as a gift for Valentine’s Day or year round!
