To make your own felt ornaments this holiday season, you will need:

Setup the Felting Station

Tear a small piece from the wool roving.

Pull apart and separate the wool fibers to create a beautiful mess.

Place the cookie cutter on top of Clover’s Needle Felting Mat, and place the stretched wool fibers into the cookie cutter.

Remove the top portion of Clover’s Pen Style Needle Felting Tool, and twist the safeguard onto it.

Create the Felt Ornament

Stab Clover’s Pen Style Needle Felting Tool into the loose fibers.

Start on the edges to create a nice shape, then continue on the inside of the cookie cutter.

Be sure to avoid hitting the cookie cutter with your needle felting tool, so the delicate needles don’t get broken.

Use different color wool roving to add interest to the ornament.

Continue to stab the loose fibers together with the needle felting tool.

Cut the trim ribbon to create an ornament hanger, then insert it in between the wool fibers to secure the ornament hanger.

Continue to stab the loose fibers together with the needle felting tool.

With the wool fibers still inside the cookie cutter, turn the cookie cutter over.

Apply the stabbing method to the other side of the cookie cutter so that you create a secure shape.

Repeat until you create a secure shape.

*The more you stab, the more secure your ornament will be.

Add more wool roving to the ornament for extra charm and whimsical details!

For my bell, I added a diamond plaid pattern to add extra charm! Just have with fun with it!

Trim the extra wool roving with scissors, then smooth out the details with the felting tool.
