How to Make a Fake Cake
This year Country Peony is celebrating 11 years, and so I thought it would be fun to create a fake cake from a cake dummy to celebrate the occasion! I documented the whole process of decorating a fake cake, and today I want to show you how to make your own as well! I plan to use mine for prop styling in the studio, but I think this could be a really fun option for decorating for the holidays as well! My mother is an incredible baker, and I am not. I have a hard time with the exact measurements, and my creations don’t normally turn out. So, I joke: “I am a craft blogger. I can’t bake a cake, but I can craft one for you!” Today I want to show you how to craft your own cake!
The Country Peony Studio in Ammansville, Texas, is a vibrant hub of creativity and DIY inspiration. Once a general store, this reimagined space preserves its rich history with salvaged wood and vintage charm, blending past and present beautifully.
The studio features bright white walls, an antique washboard sink, a pink fridge, and antique furniture from Round Top and thrift stores. Even the bathroom shines with floral wallpaper, peach wainscoting, pink floral tile floors, and Victorian tin ceilings for a playful yet sophisticated look.
Now a home for online workshops, DIY projects, and seasonal events, the Country Peony Studio is where imagination blooms and crafting dreams come to life.
