How to Make a Fake Cake
11 Year Blog Anniversary!
February is the anniversary of Country Peony. Thank you for all of your love and support throughout the years. It means so much! This year I am celebrating 11 years, and so I thought it would be fun to create a fake cake from a cake dummy to celebrate the occasion! I documented the whole process of decorating a fake cake, and today I want to show you how to make your own as well! I plan to use mine for prop styling in the studio, but I think this could be a really fun option for decorating for the holidays as well! My mother is an incredible baker, and I am not. I have a hard time with the exact measurements, and my creations don’t normally turn out. So, I joke: “I am a craft blogger. I can’t bake a cake, but I can craft one for you!” Today I want to show you how to creft your own cake! Enjoy below!

Have you ever heard of cake dummies? I was recently shopping at a charming paper goods store looking for decorations for my daughter’s birthday party, and I discovered some faux cakes or cake dummies that were used for styling. Immediately, I wanted to make one to use for styling in the studio! And, so I went onto Amazon and I discovered cake dummies. They are styrofoam bases so you can decorate a cake. I immediately purchased one and I had so much fun making my own cake for styling! Follow below for the details to decorate your own cake dummy!
