You may remember that about 6 months ago I added the very charming Pink Smeg Fridge to the Country Peony Studio. After 6 months, today I wanted to give you an update on the Pink Smeg Fridge with an honest review. Spoiler alert: I am still in LOVE with her beautiful personality and how well she fits in my kitchenette next to my antique pink washboard sink! But, continue to read below and watch the video for the full review with pros and cons.

When we were designing the Country Peony Studio, I had my heart set on a pink fridge in the kitchenette area. The space is very open, and so I wanted a fridge that almost acted as a piece of art. The Pink Smeg Fridge definitely serves that purpose! I love the sleek look, and the retro feel that fits so well in the studio space.

When it comes to kitchen appliances, the Pink Smeg 50s Retro Fridge is a standout piece that promises to add a splash of color and a touch of nostalgia to any home. Known for its eye-catching design and vibrant hue, this fridge is as much a statement piece as it is a functional appliance. After spending some time with this beauty in my studio, I’m here to share my honest review of the Pink Smeg 50s Retro Fridge, highlighting both its charm and its drawbacks.

Pink Smeg Fridge Details

I purchased my Pink Smeg Fridge through Wayfair, but it is also available through Williams Sonoma. I chose the 50s style 24” Bottom Freezer, 12.8 cubic feet refrigerator with a left door swing orientation. You also have the option of choosing a right door orientation. And, it comes in other incredible colors, but my heart was set on pink!

Pros of the pink smeg fridge

1. Love the color! One of the most compelling reasons to consider the Pink Smeg 50s Retro Fridge is its undeniable aesthetic appeal. The soft pink color is a perfect blend of fun and sophistication, making it a great addition to kitchens that need a pop of personality.

2. Great Style The style of the Smeg 50s Retro Fridge is unmatched. It’s not just a fridge; it’s a piece of art. It has a certain charm that makes you smile every time you see it! The fridge embodies a perfect fusion of retro and modern design elements, ensuring it remains timeless. The sleek, curved lines and the glossy finish make it a piece that truly stands out.

3. Unique Design & Love the Size Beyond its color and style, the Smeg 50s Retro Fridge is unique in its design. The attention to detail is evident in every curve and line. It’s a conversation starter and a testament to the idea that appliances can be beautiful as well as functional. I also love the size! It is a little over 77” inches tall and it is narrow at 24”, but I think those dimensions add to its charm. It looks really good on its own near my cabinets.

4. Works Well as a Fridge & Freezer Eventhough it is not my primary fridge in my home, it has worked really well for large events at the studio. I have not had any issues with it!

Cons of the pink smeg fridge

1. Expensive One of the most significant downsides of the Pink Smeg 50s Retro Fridge is its price. It’s undoubtedly on the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to refrigerators. While you are paying for the design and brand reputation, it’s still a considerable investment. But, there is nothing like it on the market so I went for it!

2. Long Delivery Time Another downside I experienced was the long delivery time. You can’t buy directly through Smeg. You have to go through a retailer. Made the process a little more complicated. This may mean that it can take a while to come in. I purchased mine through Wayfair, and it took about 2 months to come in. The delivery service was great though! They unboxed it, leveled it for me, and turned it on! However, if you’re in urgent need of a new fridge, this might be a significant drawback.

3. The Front is Plastic The front is plastic, and the sides are metal. That said, I probably wouldn’t use this as my primary fridge in my kitchen because I could see my young children denting it. But, it is prefect here in the studio!

Review of the Pink Smeg Fridge

The Pink Smeg 50s Retro Fridge is a beautiful blend of style and function, offering an aesthetic appeal that few other appliances can match. Its unique design makes it a standout piece, transforming any kitchen into a stylish space. However, this beauty comes at a cost. The price is high, and the wait time can be long, making it a significant investment both in terms of money and patience.

If you’re looking for a fridge that’s more than just an appliance – a piece that brings joy and style into your daily life – the Pink Smeg 50s Retro Fridge is worth considering. It’s a splurge that pays off every time you look at it. But if practicality and budget are your primary concerns, you might want to think twice before making the commitment.

Overall I am so happy with the fridge. I still love this purchase and that I went for it! It is a beautiful fridge and it makes me so happy!
