Valentine’s Day was always so fun for me as a child. It gave me a chance to flex my creative muscle and make homemade cards for my friends. Now that I have little children I love creating cute cards that my kids are excited about sharing! Last year I made these fun Valentine cards for my children and their school friends.
I discovered Kwik Stix last summer in an attempt to keep my children creatively busy. We use them all the time and I even featured them in my How to Throw a Pumpkin Painting Party blog feature. However you decide to decorate your coloring Valentine card I hope you enjoy the process with your children.
These cards are also a nice option for schools that don’t allow candy. We love candy, but sometimes it is nice to have different options and I have two for you below! I made the “You Color My World, Valentine” card for my four-year-old daughter because she loves rainbows. And, my six-year-old son is really into geography and learning about the world, so I felt like “Valentine, You Mean the World to Me” was a fun card for him to color.
Don’t forget to grab your free pdf printables below before you start. *They also include a link to download last year’s Valentine cards.
To make your own coloring Valentine card, you will need:
Step 1: Print out the free PDF printable onto 8.5” X 11”white cardstock.
*In the print settings, choose “fit to page” so that the PDF properly prints onto the page.
Step 2: On a safe workspace, place out the Kwik Stix, printed Valentine coloring cards, and wet wipes. Then, step back and let your children have fun creating!
Step 3: Once your children are done coloring their cards, you can (or they can) add their names to the bottom of the cards after, “Your Friend" and customize each card for friends.
Step 4: Follow the white grid lines and cut out the cards to create 4 individual Valentine cards.
Step 5: Let their beautiful creations dry (about an hour), then admire them or gift them!
I love how the Kwik Stix adds such a beautiful vibrancy and texture to the cards. Kwik Stix are also so easy to work with as they are pretty mess free and the paint glides on the paper!
I hope your children (or you) enjoy making these as much as we did!
