DIY Candy Wreath
Today’s post is a very nostalgic DIY for me. Much like the DIY Peppermint Candy Christmas Tree from last year, today’s DIY Candy Wreath reminds me of crafting with my mother at Christmas time. She was and still is an avid creator. Her skills expand further than mine, but she was and still is my main source of inspiration. Every Christmas we would make (and eat) these candy wreaths.
Today’s blog post is a variation on my childhood wreath. My candy wreath is intended for my children’s cheerful bathroom. The bathroom gets beautiful light throughout the day so I wanted to use a wire wreath form, versus a foam wreath form, so the light could shine through the wreath and ribbons to create a stained glass effect.
I love how pretty and simple this wreath turned out. It is perfect for my children’s bathroom for Christmas time and beyond (since the colors aren’t so Christmas centric).
This whole project cost me about $10, and it took about 1.5 hours to make. I hope you enjoy making this one afternoon by yourself or with family. It is a sweet (literally :)) addition to your holiday decor!

To make your candy wreath, you will need:
Step 1: Hot glue and wrap your ribbon around the wreath to add a base layer of white`for the candy to attach to.
Hot glue the ribbon to the wreath every third time you wrap the ribbon around the wreath.
As you wrap the ribbon around the wreath ensure it is very taut and that you overlap the ribbon so none of the original wreath texture shows through.
Finish off the ribbon at the back of the wreath by securing it with hot glue.
Step 2: Use the ribbon to create a loop, and hot glue to the back of the wreath for the wreath hanger.
Step 3: On the lowest heat setting, hot glue the hard candy to the front of the wreath.
Follow the wreath form structure, and hot glue a piece of candy to the top of the wreath, front of the wreath, and inside of the wreath. Place the candies right next to each other, and let the candy wrappers lay on top of each other so the wreath is visually full of candy!
Continue to add candy around the wreath. Ensure that your colors are mixed evenly to create beautiful dimension.
Step 4: Once you hot glue the entire front side of the wreath, then create a bow with the same ribbon. Hot glue the bow to the bottom of the wreath (remember where you put the loop wreath hanger at the back so you can reference where the bottom of the wreath is).
Leave the ribbon tails long so it creates a pretty, whimsical effect.
Step 5: Enjoy your custom creation!
My children love looking at it as they pass through their bathroom throughout the day!
I also love how you can take something like candy and turn it into a fun and pretty decorative piece for the holidays!
I hope you enjoy making this simple, candy wreath as much as I did. Happy Christmas crafting!
