Vintage Cast Iron Pink Sink: From Drab to Fab

Meet My Pink Sink in the Country Peony Studio

If you’ve been following along with my creative journey, you already know how much I love breathing new life into old treasures. One of my absolute favorite pieces in the Country Peony Studio is my gorgeous, pink cast iron washboard sink. It’s got such a fun story, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

This beauty is about five feet long and over 100 years old. It originally came from the very farmhouse where my family and I live now. It had seen much better days—rusty, worn, and just plain tired. But I knew deep down it had so much more to give. So, I set out to give it a second chance.

Enter the talented Clawfoot Tub Doctor in Industry, Texas. He worked his magic by sandblasting the surface and giving it the most beautiful baked-on finish in the sweetest shade of pink. And not just any pink—Charming Pink by Sherwin Williams. It’s the perfect shade for the whimsical, vintage-inspired style I adore for the Country Peony Studio.

Watching this sink go from drab to totally fab was like pure magic. And I love how well it goes with my pink pendant light, the white cabinets, and my beloved pink SMEG fridge in my kitchenette in the studio.

This sink means so much to me, not only because of its farmhouse roots but also because of the incredible transformation it went through. It’s a little piece of history that now gets to keep shining in a new and creative, inspiring space.

So, what do you think of its transformation? I’d love to hear your thoughts! And stick around—there’s always something new and charming popping up here in the Country Peony Studio. 💖
