Summer at the Silos | A Trip to Magnolia Market

Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to go to Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas with my mother and 5-year-old daughter. My mother and I are big fans of Joanna Gaines and her design ethos. I love how she creates beautiful moments full of timeless character throughout her spaces, and that design style was apparent throughout Magnolia Market.

About 5 years ago, I visited Magnolia Market with my girlfriends. It has grown so much since that first visit. My intention for this visit was 1) to experience a fun girls’ day with my mom and daughter, and 2) to gather inspiration for the Craft Studio.

So, today I would love to show you some of the features of Magnolia Market that really sparked my imagination.

I should preface this blog post by saying that I used to be an event coordinator and venue coordinator, so I was looking for moments throughout the visit that weren’t just pretty, but that created a good experience, like: signage, staff, decorative details, how spaces flowed, etc. And, I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by all of it. You could tell there was so much planning and heart that went into each space to create an experience that visitors will remember. My biggest takeaways: dreamy details and beautiful construction. If you have never been, I would highly recommend it!

So, let me take you through some of my favorite experiences from the day.

Magnolia Home

Summer at the Silos | A Trip to Magnolia Market

We started off at Magnolia Home, and it was a beautiful home shopping experience full of carefully decorated vignettes and inspiring spaces. I especially loved the tapestry “We believe in home.” that hung behind the checkout counter.

From unique light fixtures to beautiful antique doors, the space was full of so much charm and inspiration.

As you may know I am huge fan of gallery walls, and this one was such a fun one that is very simple to create!

I mentioned that the details were one of my favorite aspects of Magnolia Market, and they were sprinkled throughout the space. For example, the gold tile in between the white and marble tiles was such a fun, unexpected addition in the bathroom. And, this entry tile is so beautiful, and definitely inspires my bathroom tile for the Craft Studio.

Magnolia Market Grounds

The beautiful moments and details continued onto the grounds. My daughter enjoyed the industrial fountains, and I loved the artificial grass and concrete tile moment in the courtyard. So chic! Maybe one day at the Craft Studio!

I love how they built around the original silos since it is such a fun architectural feature, and the charming details on the buildings were all unique but worked so well together.

The Old Church

So the main reason that I wanted to visit was the addition of this Old Church to the property. It was breathtakling beautiful. From the original woodwork that was restored, the roof, the charming scallops and gingerbread on the outside, the charming old doors, and the very tall ceilings. My favorite feature of The Old Church was the windows! They were so charming.

The Craft Studio will be white on the inside with very tall ceilings for an open space like The Old Church.

And, yes that is a real olive tree!

The back of The Old Church is just as charming!

Food Trucks

One of the coolest features of the Market is the amazing variety of food options because of the food trucks. I love that they support local businesses by allowing them to have a space where they can serve their visitors.

We enjoyed some amazing grilled cheese sandwiches from The Cheddar Box, and the best sweat tea I have ever had from the Alabama Sweat Tea Company.

I loved the black and white awnings that covered the picnic tables, and plan to use a black and white awning at the entrance of the Craft Studio. Such a classic and charming look!

I also love this vintage inspired food truck. I loved everything about it from the color, to the lights, and the sign. Major inspiration for the Craft Studio.

Magnolia Seed + Supply

Summer at the Silos | A Trip to Magnolia Market

Magnolia Seed + Supply is a charming little shop that showcases seeds, gardening tools, and garden-inspired home decor.

As a backdrop to one of the silos, it also a very charming area full of above ground gardens. It was extremely hot when we visited, and I was impressed with how well the garden and flowers look especially in the heat!

I love the white flowers together, and the unconventional planter.

Magnolia Market

Magnolia Market is their flagship store. So many creative and beautiful vignettes throughout the space.

I especially loved the mantles as I want to incorporate a mantle into the Craft Studio for staging purposes.

How dreamy is their storage cubby, and the floral vase vignette moment? So inspiring!

The Shops at the Silos

Another area I was very excited to visit was The Shops at the Silos. They include 6 unique shops that sell different items, and each has their own design story.

I loved the stationery shop, Chapter One, and the children’s shop, Juniper & Crew. That rainbow book moment at Juniper & Crew was genius!

However, my favorite shop was Vie Bien Aimee, a bath and body shop. The color palette of brass, light wood tones, white, and blush pink inspired me so much and I plan to incorporate details from this shop into the Craft Studio.

I hope you enjoyed my recent trip to Magnolia Market and my perspective. Tell me, have you ever been? What was your favorite part?

As always, thank you for being here!

Elizabeth
