A Year of Decorating Pink Christmas Tree

Happy November! I am starting to decorate for Christmas in the Country Peony Studio and I am having so much fun adding in some color into this year’s decorations. Speaking of Christmas decorations, you may remember that last year I purchased my dream pink tree for the studio. I loved having it up for Christmas so much that I decided (with your help) to keep it up year round! That was the best decision as it has brought me so much joy throughout the year!
Before I decorate the tree for Christmas this year, let’s take a look down memory lane.
But first, here are some things I learned about decorating the pink Christmas tree.
Decorate for Joy! This tree has brought some interesting conversations over on my Facebook page. Most people are very complimentary, but some don’t see why I would spend my time decorating a tree for each season. The reason is because it brings me joy! So here is your reminder to decorate your home in a way that brings YOU joy, because YOU are living there! My Christmas Tree greets me every morning, and I can honestly say it makes me smile every morning!
Add the unexpected. Flowers, ribbons, flamingos, beach balls, and ghosts are an unusual decoration for a tree, but they are the perfect addition because they add so much whimsy and interest to this tree.
Forgo perfection and have fun with it! Enjoy the process.
When in doubt, walk away and come back to the project with a clearer mind.
Play with different textures. I love how the sparkly disco balls, velvet bows, shiny beach balls, and faux florals all play together.
Pink has always been a favorite of mine! It reminds me to stay playful and open minded to dream, just like I did as a young girl. As a young girl, I always wanted to have a large pink Christmas tree. So when it came time to decorate for my first Christmas in the Country Peony Studio I had pink on my mind.
I chose the stunning 7.5” Pink Flock Christmas Tree from King of Christmas. Last year I was so lucky to partner with Woodpeckers Crafts to create charming wooden ornaments. You can see the full tutorial HERE.
In addition to the wooden ornaments, I added disco balls, tinsel garland, and an ornament ball garland. Then, I added some more details to the tree because when it comes to Christmas more is more for me! To play off the ornament garland and vintage them, I added some vintage glass baubles. Then, I pulled some blush faux florals from their stems and I added them to the tree for a whimsical and feminine flair. To finish off the tree, I added bows of frayed velvet ribbon to the ends of the branches. *For a polished look, I recommend ironing the velvet ribbons with a hair straightener on the lowest heat setting. Lastly, in lieu of a tree skirt I added some colorful tulle and disco balls for just the right amount of whimsy and texture! I love how it turned out!
I think conversation hearts are super charming, but I don’t like the taste of them. So when I was deciding how to decorate my Valentine’s Day Tree I thought oversized conversation hearts that act as decor would make the perfect ornament for my pink tree. And, I was right! I love how simple this project was to make, and I love the colorful and whimsical impact they bring to my pink Valentine’s Day Tree.
The Spring tree brought me so much joy! The addition of the bright yellow tulips, beautiful pastel florals, and ribbons really created a feminine and romantic flair! I kept the disco balls and added more ribbons for some added whimsy!
The Summer Christmas tree was so fun, and so simple to decorate. I removed some of the flowers and ribbons, then I added in cheerful sun balls, beach balls, and flamingoes from Dollar Tree. And, a cheerful Summer Christmas tree was born!
When it came time to decorate the Christmas tree for Fall, I originally planned to deck it out in pumpkins. But, then I saw these adorable 10” wooden ghost cutouts from Woodpeckers Crafts and I decided to turn my Fall tree into a Halloween Christmas Tree! *Woodpeckers Crafts is a wonderful company. To achieve the whimsical yet moody Halloween Christmas Tree, I removed the pastel flowers, colorful ribbons, beach balls, and flamingoes from the Summer Christmas Tree. I kept the baubles, tinsel garland, pink velvet ribbons, faux florals, and disco ball skirt from the Christmas Tree from last year. I added black velvet ribbon bows, larger silver garland, and black eucalyptus garland to bring in the moody factor. Lastly, the wooden ghosts finished off the tree and added the whimsical, handmade charm that I love. I love how this tree turned out, and it brings me so much joy!
