Step-by-Step Instructions:
Choose and Cut Your Tattoos: Begin by selecting the temporary tattoos you want to use. Bow designs are especially sweet, but feel free to explore other patterns that match your style. Cut out the tattoos close to the edges to minimize any excess clear border when applied.
Prepare Your Candle Surface: Make sure your candles are clean and dry before applying the tattoos. If there’s any dust or wax residue, gently wipe the candle with a damp cloth and let it dry completely.
Position the Tattoo: Peel off the clear plastic backing from the tattoo and position it face-down onto the candle where you want the design to appear. Take your time to ensure it’s placed just right!
Apply with Water: Dip your sponge or paper towel in water and gently press it over the back of the tattoo. Be sure to cover the entire surface evenly so the tattoo transfers properly. Hold the sponge in place for about 20-30 seconds.
Reveal the Design: Carefully slide or peel away the paper backing to reveal the tattoo design on the candle. If any edges aren’t fully adhered, lightly press them down with the damp sponge.
Repeat as Desired: Continue adding tattoos to the candle, spacing them out or layering them as you like. You can create a single focal point or cover the entire candle for a more dramatic look. *I chose to go with a random design, but you can measure it out.
Let It Dry: Allow the tattoos to dry completely on the candle. This should only take a few minutes. Once dry, your design will look seamless and polished!
Styling Your Bow Candles:
These bow candles are the sweetest addition to a Valentine’s Day tablescape, a cozy mantel display, or even as a thoughtful DIY gift. Pair them with fresh flowers, a bowl of candy hearts, or other romantic decor for a charming vignette.
I loved pairing mine next to my Pink Fridge in the studio.
